I’m Not An Artist, BUT…I eat pizza! Post #6

When I wandered by this friendly employee at Thrifty Foods today, I told her she was an artist at work.

She said, “Come back when I’ve put on my finishing touches (the green peppers).
Here are her works of art, near completion.

  1. With or without the pepperoni, these pizzas hit the spot. The spot is in the eye first, later in the gut!!

  2. Colour

Can you spot the primer? Tomato paste provides a prep-coat and prevents the canvas/crust from becoming soggy. The diced tomatoes and green peppers are complimentary in taste and appearance. Red and green sit opposite one another on the colour wheel. They pop, just like traffic (or Christmas) lights! The cream-coloured crust and the shredded mozzarella provide balance and neutrality to the tasty compositions.

  3. Space

Save space for one of these with an equally-colourful and texture-full salad. Can we make space for it all?

  4. Line

The pizzas line up, ready for the oven. Take one of these works of art home. Hang it on the oven’s top shelf. Frame it on the plate. Many say that a line is a dot that went for a walk. We’ll certainly need one once we’ve consumed all of this goodness.

The elements of art sneak up and astound you.

Colour. Form. Line. Space.

Look for it; taste it; smell it.

Feel satisfied. Savour it.

Art is everywhere. In this late springtime, it’s in flower gardens. It’s in ice cream parlours. It’s in pizza!
